The population of Scotland is ageing and computers are an increasingly important part of everyday life; despite this, much technology is not designed to be easy for older people to use.
SHEFC (the Scottish Higher Education Funding Council) has funded the UTOPIA project to research the relationship between older people and technology.
The UTOPIA project is a consortium of four universities: Dundee, Abertay, Glasgow and Napier.
All the consortium partners have expertise in the design and development of technology, with the Dundee team leading the project as specialists in the design of technology for older people.
